Cannibal Escapades and Arc of Life

Cannibal Escapades

Bent

And shattered like a broken blade

Rusted and thrown away

But pulled back somehow to where it all begins

Torn

Beneath your wheels again

Like an old overcoat

Left lying in a gutter somewhere in the rain

Haunted

By spirits and venomous times

When the overcast skies

Broke into streams of starlight and flames

Hurt

Fall into a deep crevasse

The walls crushing me gently

Caressing me like tight bands of steel

So

I hang above the precipice

I hear you calling me

But your voice sounds like it’s a million miles from here

And

You’re giving me a heart attack

With all your aerial acts

And your cannibal escapades

Burning

Like a fire in a cave

Beneath a waterfall

In a jungle somewhere in one of your crazy dreams

Dead

Under a scarlet moon

In a paradise

Or a place that you would never choose

Arc of Life

Late for my rendezvous

Another chance to play the fool

Expectations unfulfilled

As fires fade

Like a child, breaking toys

Feeling evil and overjoyed

Take your place and march in time

In the last parade

Effervescent interlude

Only hides away the crude

See the beauty brand the beast

And watch them dance

Met a woman, met a man

Mephistopheles gave a hand

In the sunshine, in the shade

We take a chance
